Mobile World Congress 2019 is scheduled on 25 - 28 February. The previous edition of MWC attracted approximately 2400 exhibitors and 107,000 professional visitors from 205 countries. The congress and exhibition will be mainly based in Barcelona’s Fira Gran Via. However, certain events (such as the 4YFN start-up business platform) will be held in the Montjuic centre.
Who can you meet there
One of the reasons behind the first-rate MWC experience is the determination of the organisers to gather the right audience. During Mobile World Congress you can meet influencers, major players and promising start-ups, ministers, policy regulators and international delegations. There is an increase in the numbers of attending CEOs. This also applies to the presence of female congress attendees and speakers.
What makes it special
MWC provides an overview of the developments, processes and innovations which will have an impact on the mobile ecosystem. NEXTech is focused on disruptive technologies and covers everything from VR through AI to graphene. The GSMA Innovation City offers demonstrations of mobile-connected products. The Ministerial Programme addresses new policies in the sector. 4YFN links investors and start-ups.
What is new for Mobile World Congress 2019
Every year, Mobile World Congress features significant tech premieres. Some of the most powerful players use the platform to present their innovations to the world. MWC 2019 will have its share of memorable product launches. It is being reported that Samsung will present its foldable Galaxy X smartphone at MWC. The hype surrounding the device is growing ever since the first rumours appeared.
