The international children’s publishing sector is preparing for the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2023 dates, 6 - 9 March. The upcoming edition will mark BCBF’s 60th anniversary with a variety of special activities and initiatives. In 2023 Italy celebrates 100 years since the birth of Italo Calvino, and BCBF will commemorate the occasion by organising a new exhibition - Italian Excellence. The equally anticipated 16th edition of Bologna Licensing Trade Fair/Kids and 3rd edition of BolognaBookPlus will be held alongside BCBF in Bologna Fiera.
In 2023 Bologna Children’s Book Fair will reveal global trends in illustration and will focus on content and strategies in children’s publishing. As always, the professional audience of BCBF will be diverse - from well-established publishers to new, promising names on the international scene; from authors, translators and literary agents to illustrators, digital media professionals and teachers.
Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2023 will present a few changes. The BCBF Agents Centre will introduce adult general trade publishing, thus broadening its scope and community of publisher rights professionals. The BolognaRagazzi Award will feature a new digital area and a 2023 special category - Photography. A new prize for Digital Libraries will be awarded at BolognaRagazzi CrossMedia.
