The Automechanika Brand is the largest and most significant exhibition brand covering the international automotive aftermarket in its entirety. Comprising 15 events over four continents, Automechanika trade fairs have an undisputable reputation as the brand responsible for distributing innovation, knowledge and business synergies in the global automation sector.
Automechanika Frankfurt is the biggest and most important trade fair in the series. Since 2016 the expo has almost doubled its exhibition area, jumping from 174 000 sq m to 315 000 sq m. During the trade fair dates, the exhibition halls of Frankfurt Messe turn into a buzzing hub of professional meetings between the manufacturing industry, maintenance and repair segment and automotive trade leading representatives.
Automechanika regularly attracts over 5000 exhibiting companies and 136,000 trade visitors from Germany and beyond. These numbers have been on the upward curve since the event’s first edition in 1971. The Automechanika international reputation has also grown exponentially, with 63 countries at its first event and holding a steady 170 countries at its latest editions.
Manufacturers of equipment, parts and accessories, suppliers and service providers, industry associations, retailers, and specialist publishers come to Frankfurt for five days of discussions and business deals. At the trade show, there are plenty of opportunities for decision makers to consolidate existing accounts and establish new ones. All visitors and exhibitors can take advantage of the networking activities to find investors or products and gain expertise and perspective.
With a long history tracing the crucial stages in automotive developments, Automechanika Frankfurt has also had its share of celebrity visitors. The five-time Formula 1 World Champion Juan Manuel Fangio was an honorary guest at the inaugural edition.
Besides top-management representatives from influential aftermarket manufacturers, several start-ups and SMEs have started resilient and profitable businesses at the trade show. A brake and suspension firm called ATE Bremsen has become an integral part of the worldwide renowned Continental Aftermarket GmbH - a synergy tracing its roots at the first Automechanika Frankfurt back in 1971. Meeting long-time returning exhibitors like the car-wash company Istobal and the auto parts maker - Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG is also a typical experience at the fair. Automechanika Frankfurt will continue to deliver excellent ROI to all exhibitors, whether established companies or novices in the aftermarket business.

Automechanika’s significance and impact are undisputed - the event boasts an unmatched product array and explores the automotive aftermarket in depth. It is where the mobility of tomorrow can be seen through the projects of the industry’s innovators. No other trade fair in the world covers the automotive aftermarket value chain more comprehensively.
The automotive trade fair also stands out with its unique showcase featuring one-off vehicle prototypes. One example appearing in Automechanika Frankfurt 2004 exhibition was the famed Dolmette - motorcycle in part powered with 24 chainsaw motors.
Besides delivering incomparable display offers, the Automechanika Frankfurt event concept has undergone many positive transformations furthering innovation and research in many important areas. Through the years, Body & Paintwork exhibitors received a permanent site at Hall 11 in 2010. Subsequently, in collaboration with colournews.de trade media and FML, the area developed its own offer at the expo, complete with themed showcases and workshops on loss assessments, automotive services and claim control.
These evolutions in the event concept and show floor plan attest to the success of Automechanika Frankfurt in chaperoning the development and future trends in the aftermarket industry.
